Sarah D Biography
Singer songwriter Sarah D released four CD's between 1993 and 1999. Unfinished Business, Who Am I, Come
To The Christ Child, and Illusion Mirage.
Sarah D couples the haunting
elegance of acoustic guitar with one of the best female voices in popular music
today. The rolling arpeggios and the rhythmic strumming of her American
finger style guitar is a show all on its own. Her pure bell like voice resonates
in the core of your soul. Taken together, Sarah D’s melodies, lyrics,
guitar and voice, make for an intimate listening experience.
Sarah D's Morally Motivated- Self Help- Christian Acoustic Music (MM-SH-CAM) bares her soul. In doing this some people see themselves right there with her, learning, growing, failing and learning again. Her songs help us to remember that
"the most important of life's battles are fought in our minds."
Her lyrics have earned her the nickname "Conscience of America."
Her music has been called "Medicine for the People."
Sarah D's musical talents in performance aren't limited to her original songs. She can also entertain and minister to audiences with her personal mix of Broadway, Pop, Standards, Light Opera and Art Songs. However, her primary performance focus is sharing her original songs. For that is who Sarah D is. She is a singer songwriter with a message of struggle and hope that must be heard to be appreciated
Sarah D's strong spiritual roots
were forged in the small town of Moses Lake in central Washington State where
she grew up the youngest of fourteen children. The harsh arid scab-lands
mixed with the farming community kept her grounded and always cognizant of
humanities dependence on the grace of God. Her reliance on His saving
grace and willingness to lift the burdens of the weak who humbly come unto Him continues to carry her through life's difficulties.
She is keenly
aware that without her faith in God, and her belief that she is doing His will,
she would be unable to successfully manage the demands of her chosen
path. She also leans on the encouragement and technical support her
husband and children..
Sarah D is yet another in a long
line of socially introspective Hudson Valley artists. She takes musical
inspiration from the likes of Peter, Paul, & Mary, The Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel,
Bread, John Denver, and ABBA.
Sarah D graduated Cum Laud e with a
BA in Music and Dance. She extended her formal music training at the
Indiana Graduate School of Music. She has performed in many musical's, operetta's, plays, and cantata's. She has directed her church's children's and adult choirs on and off since age 16. She also plays the organ for the Spanish Congregation of her church.
Sarah D's diverse musical background
lends a distinct flavor to her original songs; that empower individuals to be

Sarah D has been heard in venues
large and small: Carnegie Hall, Eisenhower Hall, Churches, Coffeehouses, Retirement Homes, Libraries and
Clubs. She has played from Boston to Washington DC, and from New York
City to Seattle.
Her performance preferences are to play background music for corporate events and dinner parties or to use her music to minister to church groups, spiritual retreats, and self help organizations.
Sarah D created The Music in the Grove Concert Series in Walden NY with the help of her husband and the Walden Community Council. She and her husband booked and ran this for the community for seven years before starting other ventures. She now runs an open mic at her church on the 4th Friday of every month. The Sarah D Showcase was a local access TV variety show she started and hosted for about 7 years previous to the concert series. It was recorded and aired in Port Jervis NY. On year seven her show aired on Time Warner Cable's local access channel out of Middletown, NY.
Sarah D is not a teenager dreaming of a music career. She is a wife and mother of five grown children. She is looking find a music recording studio interested in bringing the volumes of music she has created over the past fourteen year recording sabbatical where she moved her focus to family endeavors, teaching music, church service.
